Who does Elite Psychology assess?

Elite Psychology assesses children, adolescents, and adults. The right service—and whether testing is virtual, in person, or in your community—depends on the person’s needs and the questions the assessment should answer. We also work with schools, agencies, communities, and other organizations.

What ages do you assess?

We assess children, adolescents, and adults. Minimum ages depend on the service: autism assessments are available from age 3, ADHD assessments from age 4, and psychoeducational or learning assessments from age 5. Other mental-health assessment age requirements vary by the concern and developmental level. Not sure which assessment is appropriate? Book a free consultation and our intake team will help you choose.

Do I need a referral from a doctor or another professional?

No. You can contact Elite Psychology and book an assessment directly. You do not need a referral from a doctor, school, or another professional.

Can you make a diagnosis?

Yes, when the assessment findings support one. At Elite Psychology, our psychology professionals are qualified and competent to assess many diagnoses. Depending on the service and the person, this may include ADHD, autism, anxiety, intellectual disability, and specific learning disorders.

What is included in the assessment fee?

Every assessment includes the clinical assessment process, a detailed written report, practical recommendations, and a results meeting. When supported by the findings, applicable doctor letters and Disability Tax Credit forms are also included. The comparison table above shows the testing included with each service.

How soon can I get an appointment and receive the report?

Appointments are generally available in days or weeks—not months or years. Reports are generally provided within two weeks after all required testing, forms, records, and payment have been received.

Are live virtual face-to-face assessments valid—and who are they appropriate for?

Virtual assessments are available now in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. A live virtual face-to-face assessment can be valid when the tests, technology, setting, and person are a good fit. Before booking virtually, you will complete a short suitability questionnaire. If any answer needs review, we will ask you to book a consultation. When virtual testing is clinically appropriate, the same service minimum ages apply: autism 3+, ADHD 4+, and psychoeducational or learning assessments 5+. Other mental-health assessment age requirements vary by the concern and developmental level. Clinical judgment is used throughout the assessment.

Who administers the testing, reviews the results, and signs the report?

Testing may be completed by a testing specialist, psychologist, or psychological associate. Every team member is trained and qualified for the work they complete. A psychologist or psychological associate reviews and interprets the findings and is responsible for the final report.

Who receives the report, and how is personal information kept confidential?

The report is provided to the client or the person legally authorized to receive it, such as a parent or guardian. We only share it with a school, doctor, family member, or other third party with proper consent or when required or permitted by law. We use secure systems and protect confidential information in keeping with our privacy duties.

Can I receive a copy of my results meeting?

Yes. At your request, the results meeting may be recorded, and we can provide a video recording, an audio recording, or a written transcript. With your permission, we can also send the copy to a third party, such as a family member or school. This applies to the meeting where the results are explained. It does not include recorded testing sessions (if any) or protected test materials.

How can the assessment report be used?

Depending on the findings and purpose, the report may support school planning, postsecondary accessibility requests, medical follow-up, workplace accommodations, disability-program applications, and access to services. The receiving school, employer, insurer, or program makes its own eligibility decisions.

Doesn’t my child’s school provide assessments for free?

Some schools provide assessments at no cost to families. Access and wait times vary by school division, and the school may decide which students receive an assessment. A private assessment may provide faster access, more choice over timing, and a report that can be shared with the school and other professionals with your consent.

Can Elite Psychology travel to my community for an assessment?

Yes. Travel-to-you assessments are available now in Manitoba and Saskatchewan for organizations booking multiple assessments. Availability and travel costs depend on the location, the number of assessments, and the services required. We will discuss any travel costs with you before you book. A live virtual face-to-face assessment may also be available when it is suitable for the person being assessed.

Do you offer therapy or counselling?

No. Elite Psychology focuses on psychological and educational assessments. If you need therapy or counselling, we may be able to refer you to a trusted provider.

How long is an assessment considered current or useful?

An assessment does not have one standard expiry date. Many schools, agencies, and programs consider a report current for about three to five years. A new assessment may be needed sooner if the person’s abilities, needs, symptoms, or daily functioning have changed. Some programs have their own rules about how recent a report must be. Contact us if you are unsure whether an existing assessment will meet your needs.

Can insurance, benefits, or financing help with the cost?

Insurance and benefit coverage varies, so confirm eligibility and reimbursement directly with your provider. Affirm or Klarna financing may be available when booking, subject to the provider’s eligibility rules and terms.

Can you assess my child through Jordan’s Principle?

Yes. Elite Psychology is an approved Jordan’s Principle service provider. We can help eligible families prepare and submit a funding request for a First Nations child. Indigenous Services Canada makes the final eligibility and funding decision, and approval is not guaranteed. Start the Jordan’s Principle application process →

What is your cancellation, rescheduling, and late-arrival policy?

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule. We understand that plans change, and we will work with you when reasonably possible. We do not automatically charge a cancellation or rescheduling fee. If repeated late changes or missed appointments prevent the assessment from being completed, we may need to agree on a new plan before reserving more time. If you arrive late, we will use the remaining appointment time when possible, but another appointment may be needed to protect the quality of the assessment.
