Elite PsychologyVirtual assessment suitability check

Is a Live Virtual Assessment Right for You?

A live virtual assessment is face-to-face with a real testing professional by private video. It is not a self-guided online quiz. This short check helps us decide whether virtual testing is likely to work well for you.

1. Where will the person be physically located during the assessment? *
2. Can the person do all of these during online testing? *

• Work on one screen activity for about 5 minutes
• Take part in a virtual testing session that may last up to 2 hours, with breaks
• Understand and respond to simple spoken English directions, such as “Point to the picture,” “Tap the answer,” or “Tell me what you see.”
• See pictures, shapes, and words on a screen
• Hear spoken directions over video
• Use a touchscreen and paper materials
• Speak, point, or show their answers
• Stay comfortable with the screen, sound, and camera

3. Technology and materials *

Will you have a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone that can run Google Meet?

It must have a working camera and microphone and be positioned so the person’s face and work area can be seen when requested.

Will you have a separate tablet that can be used for testing?

How will you print any test materials we send?

Not tested yet.

This test sends basic connection information to Cloudflare. It does not send your answers.

4. Will there be a suitable testing space? *

The space should be quiet, private, well lit, and have a desk or table, a chair, room for the devices and materials, and as few distractions as possible.

5. Will a parent, guardian, or other responsible adult be at the same location and available nearby throughout the assessment? *

The adult does not need to remain in the room unless requested. However, they must stay close enough that the person being assessed or the testing professional can call them and they can return promptly.

The adult may be asked to help with materials, camera positioning, technology, or breaks. They must not provide hints, explain questions, or help the person answer unless specifically instructed by the testing professional.

This does not necessarily mean that we cannot complete the assessment virtually. We would like to understand the person’s needs, available technology, and testing conditions so that we can determine the best way to complete the assessment.
